Meet the Craftsman – Gary Garcia

Gary Garcia discovered his love for carpentry as a young man, spending hours turning wood into beautiful, lasting pieces. What began as a hobby soon became his life’s work. In 1992, Gary founded Gary’s Log Furniture in downtown Trinidad, and by 1995, he built the shop’s current home—right off the interstate, where travelers from all over the country could find his handcrafted creations.
Over the years, Gary has built everything from simple stools to an impressive 40-foot bar for a local business. His passion shines most in the log beds he crafts—offered in nearly a dozen original styles. Each custom bed takes about two days to build, reflecting both skill and dedication.
Gary believes in sturdy craftsmanship: screws and wood glue make every piece strong, while his trusted lathe machine shapes each curve with precision. For Gary, furniture-making isn’t just a job—it’s a lifelong pursuit of perfection in wood.
